The Circulation of Lenin, 2017, four-channel video projection, 4 times a minute loop
The video projection or video installation The Circulation of Lenin in Nature thematizes a monumental statue of Lenin, one whose various modifications were scattered throughout Eastern Europe during the Cold War. The work was created for the centenary of the Russian Revolution. It is essentially a short story illustrating the huge ambition of some politicians (or people) to change the world on principle. These revolutionary or radical acts later get out of their control or influence and take on a life of their own in unexpected and undesirable ways. As a result, they quite often have unanticipated destructive effects.
