Skyscraper, 2022, b&w 3D animated film, 15 min.- collaboration on animation with Ondřej Rakušan.
This film shows the center of a typical contemporary city. The city is monitored by an industrial camera mounted on a skyscraper. The camera shoots in the time-lapse mode, i.e., by taking pictures at (relatively) long intervals and displaying them in an accelerated pace. The film features a skyscraper growing downtown, far outstripping its surroundings. It grows so high that it disappears from the frame. After a while, however, a situation arises where the structure of the building cannot withstand the weight of the mass above it. It begins to crack and the tower collapses to the ground. This situation is not normal. The skyscraper did collapse, but not all of it. Paradoxically, a part of the structure is hanging from the top of the screen, as if it were held up by an incomprehensible anti-gravity force somewhere high up. In this sense the film continues. After a while, another intrepid skyscraper begins to rise from the huge pile of rubble that has covered the city.
