Optical Errors is made of an old (family) projection screen dating back to the First Republic. As a result, the surface is covered with a layer of optical glass beads that are badly damaged. This kind of surface was originally intended to highlight and brighten the image being projected. The artist has created a minimalist image from this canvas by attempting to restore the projection surface, with mixed results. He added new glass beads, but insufficiently large ones. In this way, he did indeed enhance the surface, though more by accentuating its flaws.
