CHARTER OF FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS
Title Two, Section One
Fundamental Human Rights and Freedoms
Everyone is entitled to rights.
Everyone has the right to life. Human life is worthy of protection even before birth.
No one shall be deprived of his life.
The death penalty shall not be permitted.
It shall not be a violation of the rights under this article if someone has been deprived of his life in connection with an act which is not punishable by law.

The inviolability of liberty and its privacy shall be guaranteed. It may be restricted only in cases provided for by law.

No one shall be tortured or subjected to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

Personal liberty shall be guaranteed.

No one shall be prosecuted or deprived of his liberty except on the grounds and in the manner provided for by law.
No one shall be deprived of his liberty solely on the ground of inability to fulfil a contractual obligation.
An accused or suspected of a criminal offence may be detained only in cases provided for by law.

An accused may be arrested only upon a written, reasoned order of a judge.

No one may be taken into custody except for the reasons and for the period provided for by law and on the basis of a court decision.

The law shall determine in which cases a person may be taken into or held in institutional care without his or her consent.

No one may be subjected to forced labour or service.

Everyone has the right to have his or her human dignity, personal honour, good reputation and name protected.

Everyone has the right to protection against unlawful interference with his or her private and family life.

Everyone has the right to protection against the unlawful collection, publication or other misuse of personal data.

Everyone has the right to own property. Inheritance shall be guaranteed.

The law shall determine which property may be owned only by the state or only by a private person.

Ownership is binding. It may not be abused to the detriment of the rights of others or in conflict with the general interests protected by law.

Expropriation or forced restriction of ownership rights is possible in the public interest, on the basis of the law and for compensation.

Taxes and fees may be imposed only on the basis of the law.

A dwelling is inviolable. It is not permitted to enter it without the consent of the person who lives there.

A house search is permissible only for the purposes of criminal proceedings, and on the basis of a written reasoned order of a judge.

No one may violate the confidentiality of correspondence or the confidentiality of other documents and records, whether kept in private or sent by post or in any other way.

Freedom of movement and residence is guaranteed.

Everyone who is lawfully staying in the territory of his state has the right to leave it freely.

A citizen may not be forced to leave his homeland.

A foreigner may be expelled only in cases provided for by law.

Freedom of thought, conscience and religion is guaranteed. Everyone has the right to change his religion or belief or to have no religion.

Freedom of scientific research and artistic creation is guaranteed.

No one may be compelled to perform military service if this is contrary to his conscience or his religious belief.

Everyone has the right freely to manifest his religion or belief, either alone or in community with others and in private or public, in worship, teaching, practice and observance.

Churches and religious societies shall manage their own affairs.

The law shall determine the conditions for the teaching of religion in state schools.
