Immense Screw, 2022, metal, electronic devices and robotic equipment, 30 x 20 x 15 cm
The screw is installed as part of a blank wall. This gives the viewer the feeling that something is missing. Usually, the screw in a gallery space is associated with hanging artworks. It does not mean anything in itself. The gallery visitor is surprised to see the screw on its own, but he is even more surprised when he approaches the screw, and in reaction to his presence it starts to turn out of the wall. This change of paradigm has an almost magical effect on the viewer. The viewer’s amazement grows when he realizes that the first time the screw is turned, it starts to rain (outside the gallery), as can be heard from behind the wall, and that with each subsequent turn, a thunder rumbles somewhere in the immense distance. In this installation the artist works with the phenomenon of butterfly wings.
