Electropainting, 1992, performance painting, high voltage cables, acrylic paints,Děčínský Sněžník
For one of my body-art actions, testing the possibility of action art and its direct experience, I slipped on rubber gloves, boots and climbed up a high-power utility pole. For the painting I used a special minimax filled with a colored antifreeze mixture, which I sprayed on the frozen white high-power lines in short doses so that I wouldn’t get electrocuted. Because the lines were frozen and really sagging, the emulsion trickled to the lowest point a distance of several hundred meters from the pole. When I ran out of paint, I slid down to the ground and ran around under the place where the emulsion, weakly charged with electricity, was dripping. I caught the drops in the palms of my hands.
