A Complicated Connection (1992-3). It is the rope from the excavator, in conjunction with new technologies, new materials and consumer goods. It is a memory of the passing of heavy industry intertwined with an experience of the presence of the post-industrial fetish. The author’s aim is to give each strand of rope its own identity; it is not a homogeneous object, but a diversionary unity. The real and experienced psychedelia was the environment of the Khabařovice chemical waste dump, where Jiří Černický made expeditions and hunts for material in his childhood and youth.
