Fuel

Fuel, 1992, syringe, color

The syringes, titled “Fuel” (1992), are not meant to be evidence of the artist’s drug past. Again, they are a commentary on the ubiquitous painting. At the same time, the inscriptions on them refer to expanded states of consciousness, emphasizing the individual’s intimate relationship to the universe, the infinite, but also registering the penetration of hard drugs into society.
