Cooling Attempt
This unique photograph captures the source before it was removed from the body of the GT. It presents a view into the insides of a cooling container inside which the GT was attached to a measuring device in the form of glass cylinders. It was able to capture the average change in temperature on different parts of the source. Although the cooling process did inspire a decrease in thermoactivity, the effect was minimal and as soon as the object was removed from the container, its temperature regained its previous value.

Crystalline mould
What you are seeing in this 200x magnified microscopic image is the so-called “crystalline mould”. It is not, however, a true mould. The term came about due to the similarity of the film created by these microstructures to that formed by the mycelium of a mould. The composition of the formations creating this film and reminiscent of fungi is, however, of a purely inorganic nature. Its organic shapes are composed of thousands of crystalline structures formed from compounds of chrome and graphite. They were found in the crevices and depressions resulting from the disruption of the material of Gagarin’s Thing during its destruction.
